Journey Person Electrician / 4th Year Apprentice
Start Date: April 2026

Who You Are
You are a dedicated Journey Person or 4th-year Apprentice with a passion for the residential and light commercial industry. You’ve been the lead on jobs, skillfully managing projects and client relations, but it’s your personal qualities that truly set you apart.
You’re direct yet kind-hearted, warm, and helpful. You have a knack for connecting with people and excel at resolving issues with a light-hearted, yet focused approach. You value being part of a team, you thrive on collective learning, and you enjoy mentoring apprentices—remembering your own beginnings and the value of compassionate teaching.
The Role
You will work in a structured rotation between project work and service work.
Project Rotation
During project rotation, you will:
- Lead residential and commercial jobs from rough in through final
Complete panel upgrades, service upgrades, EV chargers, renovations, and new construction - Read drawings and execute work accurately
- Coordinate with other trades on site
- Supervise and mentor apprentices
- Ensure all work is compliant with the Ontario Electrical Code
- Maintain clean, organized job sites
You are responsible for job quality, efficiency, and client communication.
Service Rotation, Floater
During service rotation, you will:
- Handle diagnostics and troubleshooting
- Complete service calls and small jobs including taking payment from the customer
- Perform repairs, upgrades, and corrections
- Support project crews with material runs and on site assistance as needed
- Keep jobs moving when schedules shift
Service days may be scheduled in advance or built the morning of. You are paid consistently regardless of call volume.
We work in:
- Custom homes
- Renovations and additions
- Panel and service upgrades
- EV charger installations
- Commercial tenant improvements
- Older homes with tight spaces and retrofit challenges
You must be comfortable working in attics, crawlspaces, at heights, and in active construction environments.
Qualifications
- Licensing: Valid Ontario 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician license OR a registered 4th-year apprentice in good standing with Skilled Trades Ontario.
- Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of the current Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC).
- Driving: Valid Ontario G Class Driver’s License with a clean abstract.
- Logistics: Ability to take a company van home each night and have a reliable/safe place to park it.
- Safety: Working at Heights and WHMIS certification (preferred, but we can help you update these).

Working Conditions
- Hours: Generally 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday.
- Environment: You’ll be working on active construction sites and in client homes. This involves exposure to standard electrical hazards and construction environments.
- Physicality: You’ll need to be able to lift up to 50 lbs and handle heavy equipment/ladders.
- Spaces: Work often involves tight/confined spaces (attics/crawls) or working at heights.
- Safety: Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory and provided.
